Review from Westival 2023

“From the second Nan appears on stage you are bewitched.

Her soft Tyrone accent, twinkling eyes and engaging chat sparks your curiosity and has you wondering how she is going to pull this off. Then comes the effortless voice rising and falling with ease and confidence.

To emulate an artist as well loved and respected as Kate Bush is a brave move with new interest sparked by the use of “Running up that Hill” in the Netflix series of Stranger Things. However I’d go as far as to say Nan and her band create something more than the sum of their parts with their tight, creative, professionally crafted interpretations. There is an alchemy on stage that has you hypnotised, enhanced by the use of simple props and choreography. At one point Nan swiftly uses her ukulele like a rifle putting a chilling spin on “Army Dreamers”.  We were surprised to be treated to a deeply moving duet with her astonishingly talented brother Fra singing “Don’t Give Up”. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. 10 minutes later we were bouncing on the dance floor singing along to Wuthering Heights.

If she comes to your town you are lucky, if she comes near your town go, you won’t be disappointed. We were honoured to launch her new tour at Westival 2022 in Westport.”
